DESCRIPTION: May 2, 2026, 10:00 am to 12:00 pm\n\nJoin Outdoor Service Guides Brooklyn Troop 651 Greenwood, Resilient Red Hook, Riverkeeper, and Parks and Trails New York (PTNY) for a cleanup project at Valentino Pier Park from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm for the 15th Annual Riverkeeper Sweep. \n \nThis location is one of a select number of official dual Riverkeeper Sweep + I Love My Park Day sites, bringing volunteers together to protect our waterways while caring for our parks and trails. This is a rain or shine event.\n\nVolunteers will meet at Valentino Pier Park, 104 Ferris Street, Brooklyn, NY 11231. Meet at the flagpole in the park lawn. Street parking is available, but we recommend you to come early to find a spot.\n\nWe recommend all Sweep volunteers to bring a hat, sunscreen, a full reusable water bottle, insect repellent, work gloves and hand sanitizer. \n\nThis site is suitable for elementary-aged children with adult supervision.\n\nQuestions? To ensure the safety of volunteers, Sweep Site Leaders, professional staff, and our communities, we ask that volunteers adhere to the following guidelines:\n\nVolunteers are required to pre-register for Sweep.\nVolunteers should not participate if they have ANY signs of illness.\n\n\nOver the last 14 years, Sweep leaders have completed 1,463 projects, bringing together thousands of volunteers from NYC to the Adirondacks to clean up 404 tons of debris, and plant and maintain 11,425 native trees, shrubs, and flowers.
