DESCRIPTION: May 2, 2026, 10:00 am to 2:00 pm\n\n\nJoin NYSDEC Hudson River National Estuarine Research Reserve, Riverkeeper, and Parks and Trails New York (PTNY) for a cleanup project at Piermont Marsh from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm for the 15th Annual Riverkeeper Sweep and PTNY's I Love My Park Day.\n\nThis location is one of a select number of official dual Riverkeeper Sweep + I Love My Park Day sites, bringing volunteers together to protect our waterways while caring for our parks and trails. This is a rain or shine event. \n \nVolunteers will meet at Tallman Beach and Pool Club in Tallman Mountain State Park, 2 Tallman Mountain Road, Sparkill, NY 10976. Enter through main entrance at Tallman Mountain State Park. Continue on the park road and follow signs for the Tallman Beach and Pool Club. Park in the lower lot of Tallman Mountain State Park at the bottom of the hill (Tallman Beach and Pool Club parking lot).\n \nWe recommend that all Sweep volunteers bring a hat, sunscreen, a full reusable water bottle, insect repellent, work gloves and hand sanitizer. Site access will require canoeing - tall waterproof boots suggested.\n\nThis site is not suitable for elementary-aged children with adult supervision.\n\nQuestions? To ensure the safety of volunteers, Sweep Site Leaders, professional staff, and our communities, we ask that volunteers adhere to the following guidelines:\n\n\nVolunteers are required to pre-register for Sweep.\nVolunteers should not participate if they have ANY signs of illness.\n\n \nOver the last 14 years, Sweep leaders have completed 1,463 projects, bringing together thousands of volunteers from NYC to the Adirondacks to clean up 404 tons of debris, and plant and maintain 11,425 native trees, shrubs, and flowers.
