DESCRIPTION: May 2, 2026, 9:00 am to 12:00 pm\n\nJoin Friends of Athens, The Trojan Paddling Race, and Riverkeeper for a cleanup by kayak at Middle Ground Flats from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm for the 15th Annual Riverkeeper Sweep. Please note, all kayakers must bring their own kayaks, paddles, and PFDs, and must be EXPERIENCED PADDLERS. This is a rain or shine event.\n \nVolunteers will meet at Athens Boat Launch at 153 N. Washington Street, Athens, NY. If coming by kayak, take Murderers Creek.\n\nWe recommend all Sweep volunteers to bring a hat, sunscreen, a full reusable water bottle, insect repellent, work gloves and hand sanitizer. \n \nThis site is not suitable for elementary-aged children.\n\nQuestions?
