Protect the Mohawk River

The Mohawk River is a vital waterway, supporting commerce, fishing, and recreation. But it faces growing challenges, particularly related to flooding and water quality.

The Mohawk River Basin Management Act would strengthen New York State’s Mohawk River Basin Program, which protects and restores the Mohawk River watershed through strategic efforts to build climate resilience, manage land use and development, improve water quality by addressing pollution, support fisheries and aquatic habitats, protect drinking water, enhance recreational and canal infrastructure, and prevent and control invasive species.
